In this sacred prayer, Saint Adi SankarA describes the fused form of Siva and Sakti, that which encompasses the masculine and fem- inine, and yet goes beyond genders. The masculine and feminine are not contradictory principles but complementary aspects that aid the harmonious functioning of the Universe. There is no One without the Other and there is no Him without Her.
